Shipping a Macbook Pro

Not sure if I am posting this in the right forum, but I am looking at sending a Macbook Pro via courier that I sold on ebay, it'll be fully boxed, wrapped in bubble wrap and then put in another box.

But I am unsure who to send it with, as I want to make sure its covered incase of damage through the courier.

Any help appreciated.

  • I have just seen Royal Mail Special Delivery would be the cheapest way at £30.00, however I can't work out whether the £2500 compensation for loss/damage covers laptops.

The compensation is to cover the value of what is inside the box, not what it is (only the mickey mouse couriers pull that one).
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
  • Ah ok, thanks.

May try DPD as there Depot is closest to me so will be easier to drop it off.

What I wrote above applies to Royal Mail, not necessarily to any other company. You may want to read DPD's reviews first, not many seem to have a good word to say about them.

  • Oh I'm that case I'm just gonna go with Royal Mail as they are by far the cheapest.

But do check it's wrapped right - compensation may not cover it if it's wrapped in a binbag with a stamp on...and so for instance impact damage may not be coverable
  • Its in its original box which is then bubble wrapped multiple times, and then put in another cardboard box with loads of screwed up paper on top so it should be fine.

Your packing sounds perfect. Make sure you print the recipient's name, address, postcode and mobile phone number clearly in large typeface that's easy to read. A "Documents Enclosed" wallet is ideal.

    Hi

Take some photos, just in case. You can even send them to the recipient.

Then claims of inadequate wrapping are less likely to surface.
