scottish Power money grabbers!!!!!!!

Can anyone please help? I have been finishing off the sale of my grandfathers house and in sept contacted scottish power with final readings and expected a final bill but now have recieved another bill of which (after 4hrs of waiting for a call back!!!) the account hadn't been closed and now this bill was the final one!!!!! Is there anything I can do to contest this as they messed up?

On which date did the sale of the house complete?

It was early sept and readings were taken and given to Scottish power on the same day as completion

So you had a final bill circa September using the meter reads you gave them, yes? And you paid this? And they've since sent you another one using different readings?

If that's the case, write (don't call!) a letter headed Complaint.

Something along the lines of:

Dear Scottish Power,

As I had paid your final bill dated xx/xx/2014 using the meter readings provided on the date this property was sold, I now consider this matter closed. Please confirm at your earliest convenience that this is the case.
