Tyre Pressure warning light

  • About a year ago the tyres were replaced, but the warning light came on more recently. I just wondered as it seems odd that a battery can't simply be replaced.

(if I should start a new thread please say, I don't want to hijack 50Twuncle's thread :o)

Mine went off on a long run, after I had run into a shower. It was sensitive enough that the slight pressure reduction from cooling provided by the rainwater was sufficient to trigger the warning. I did check the tyres at the time and all was well. This has happened a couple of times in the last 12 months.

It stays lit even after a restart because you have to faff through the menus to delete it. It always happens long enough after I've forgotten the menu presses.

As far as I am aware - there is no "user reset" on my car
I had to take it back to the dealers to reset - they disconnected the sensor for 10 mins !!

How long do TPMS sensors typically last? I had one need replacing after five years, apparently the battery went flat and you can't simply put a new battery in. :wall:

I didn't know that they contained batteries.

Honda CRV's have a user reset, found by delving into the menus.

Software glitch - turn off / turn on cures 93.278% of errors (statistic may be made up).

Don't they say 87% of statistics are made up anyway? ;)

It appears that Suzuki have not offered a simple user reset with my Swift - what happens when I go "elsewhere" for new tyres as well ?
This appears to be a poorly thought out accessory ......
