Being threaten by nPower.

Hi.
I got home today from work to find a letter from Npower requesting me a payment for my bills. The problem is my bills are incorrect. I raised a claim about my bills being wrong back in June. I'm still waiting for them to be fixed.
I get automated emails saying they're still having a look at it but I wonder how incompetent can somebody be to make a bill with expenses since over a year ago.
But the worst is that on today's letter I got a second sheet saying they could cut my supply if I don't pay. Funniest thing is I used to have direct debit with them and they cancelled it.

So not only don't they do their job properly but I also get threats? I'm not going to just sit and wait after this.
Does anybody know how I should proceed to stop this abuse?

  • What do you believe to be incorrect on your bills? What have npower specifically said in relation to this?

When did last make a payment?

Your post is far to vague to give meaningful advice as the best course of action is dependent on the issue.
  • Cutting you off is an empty threat, at the most all they will do is install a prepay meter and load the meter with their debt with a weekly repay of between £4 to £16 a week.

@energyworker I'm on Economy10. They're charging me the heating boosts at normal rate instead of the reduced rates. I got my first bill in a year in April. I had been paying 50-60 monthly until I raised a claim about my bill and suddenly charges stopped to come to my account. I contacted them on previous payment request attempts but they still have not set up my DD again.

@sacsquacco I know, but I don't want them to change my meter to a prepayment one for two reasons: 1, I'm a tenant so it's not my house and 2, I doubt I could keep Economy 10 with a prepayment meter.

    Hi Carmel,
Sorry for the late response. I had a chat with Carole Allison (Executive Support) and she apologized for this inconvenience and she sweared they were working as hard as possible to have it fixed.
I'm still waiting for them to be fixed and it's going to be two years without proper bills by the end of March.

one word Idia, they sacked all their experienced staff
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
