Santander 1-2-3 Credit Card

Hi all,

Got this card over two years ago but have not used it in the last year and a bit.

There's an annual £24 fee. Last year I forgot to pay on time and paid interest even though I didn't want it.

Rang them up this week to cancel the card as the annual fee is now due. They refuse to cancel it saying they can't close the account until it is settled.

Honestly can't understand why. I pay £24 for the forthcoming year, why can I not cancel it then? Feels as if I'm being charged for a meal I do not want.

Any recommendations out there on who to speak to? Customer service person just said there's nothing she can do.

Have you waited for them to charge the £24 to the card, then tried to cancel when payment is due?

You should have cancelled before they charged you the fee. You've now paid the fee, so you owe it back to them.

You'd have to look at their T&Cs to see if they offer any refunds on this/

    Follow their complaints procedure :)
