How to remove FBDownloader from computer

Essentially the problem started after a Window's update last night. My computer began to not recognise Google Chrome and despite attempts to get it working again I was constantly redirected to 'http://search.fbdownloader.com'

Finding out this was a virus I looked up various ways of how to get rid of it, so I ran 'Norton Power Ereaser' - nothing.

Now Chrome refuses to work outright and 'FBDownloader' is still on my computer. Some advice or a walkthrough of how to get rid of it would be much appreciated.

Most of antivirus programs won't help remove such annoying potentially unwanted programs and browser hijackers that can hijack web browsers.
I tried to manually get rid of it by following a referral guide. Well, I'm so lucky, I did it.

download and install malwarebytes , then a full scan and remove all it finds
