Internet/ smart thermostat

Hi all,
I'm looking to get an internet and wireless thermostat installed on my existing heating system I also wanted the interface wall mounted and minimalist. But I'm struggling to find something that fits the bill and can be installed soon (boiler has only just been repaired, wasn't sure if we were replacing it). There is currently no form of thermostat on the heating system so wiring one up would be a right pain, my house is also solid wall construction.
Nest: it would have to plugged in an sit on a surface. You can only wall mount it if your wiring in the connect, which I can't do.
Tado: Seems expensive and it isnt clear whether the system is wireless?
Hive: Sounds great as its wireless and wall mounted ... apart from actually getting it installed. They don't do weekends at all and can only give you half day slots and you are currently waiting a month to get it installed. With my current job I cannot take time off in their fitting slots. Called them, they were unable to help. The total cost is more for an electrician to install it when you buy it without installation.
Salus: The cheapest, not sure if truely wireless, this information seems hard to find. Also reliability issues with this brand from reviews.
Does anyone have any suggestions/ other brands that I haven't thought of? I know Honeywell are bringing out their version of the nest (Lyric) next year but seems to have the same limitations.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I'm looking in to this at the moment also! I pretty much want the same as yourself, though I'd also like a programmable function on the system / app, so I can set it to come on regular mornings etc, though as I work sporadic hours / out at the gym on the way home etc it would be nice to switch the heating on just 30mins before getting home. Currently have a new CH system with an analogue clock but it just bugs me as I like to switch the heating on or off at any time, not just when the clock allows me to (in case I forget to switch it off and waste energy!).
So I haven't looked into any of these yet! The Hive system looks nicely marketed - it has that 'app' friendly presence doesn't it?
My new plumber has a Salus and told me to go to their site. I found them a bit clunky. He says that he can do the heating from out the house (not sure if it's programmable (wording?)) but it comes with a box that plugs into the router, then thermostat (i imagine), and the plugin to the boiler. The app is free - but overall nothing is cheap in any of these options!
Not heard or looked at Nest / Tado at the moment! I came on here to see what people recommended. So if you find any gems let me know and likewise!

I went with OWL heating and hot water(not many do this with variable temp control)
http://www.theowl.com/
Simple wall mounted interfaces
wired and wireless for the heating control
wired for the internet connection
app interface(not windows) or browser for settings.
continuous recording of temps.
Note that heating wireless and wifi are different
I did look at heatmiser they have changed the range since.
Honeywell do one that is also voice activated(new since we got ours)

Download manuals and user guides of all systems you are interested in and go through them before buying0
