We are planning on moving house 200 miles away I can transfer with my job no problem however my wife works for the local council so will lose her job. Will she be able to claim JSA? We are moving to be closer to her parents and be mortgage free.

she will have made herself unemployed and any jsa claim can and probably will be sanctioned for unto 26 weeks0

As I understand it - moving with a partner may be reasonable cause for leaving a job, in some cases.
Assuming that the higher-earning partner is the one moving for employment, and the costs of maintaining a second house, or transport time would make the job impractical.0 -

God forbid your wife would want to claim benefits. Are benefits claimants the low life of the UK, going by your posts and nasty comments to those claiming benefits.0

if they have paid NI through working why would you think they not be able to claim?
maybe you are thinking of those that do not qualify for contribution based JSA in which case it would be income related benefits which would be affected by partner's (married or unmarried) income0 -
I suggest people step back from this thread.
The OP asked for advice over a year ago. It has been brought back to life by a poster who appears to have some sort of issue with the OP.0
