Fit Note help

Hello. I've just collected my fit note from the doctor's and I just wanted to ask about one section. It's the line "I will/will not need to assess your fitness for work again at the end of this period." My doctor's crossed out "will", does that mean she's only willing to issue the fit note this time, or something else? Thanks.

It means they want to see you at the end of the note period before you return to work or they will not issue another until seen...whichever applies.

I read it as you should be fit to return to work when your sick note runs out and that they will not need to see you again.

Thanks, that's what I thought. So basically I've got a month to improve. This is all new to me so thanks again. Poppie, I probably didn't explain it very well.

The fact that the GP has stated they will not need to see you doesn't stop you going back to them if you aren't fit for work at that end of the Fit Note period.
