Credit Card & Paypal Query

Hi,

I am due to get my car repaired (bodywork) and due to the time of year and in process of completing a house purchase I was going to pay the £300 quoted on my 0% interest free for 29 months credit card. Problem now is the garage doing the works dont take card payment :o

I was wondering if it was possible for me to take a payment from the credit card via paypal, then transfer this into my current account to prevent me having to take a ATM withdrawal.

These are the only 2 ways I can think of doing it. If paypal option is do-able, im aware there's fees which calculate to around £10.

Thoughts please :)

Alex

It is possible, but I have heard instances when people have done so some have received a note from Paypal saying don't do it again or your account will be closed.
  • Its possible but you will lose the PayPal card fee, it may require the use of two accounts but PayPal only allow one set of payment details to be registered to a single account so if both card and bank are already registered on your account you may be stuck

I'd have thought especially being this time of year, and that you are just about to complete on a house purchase, why not spend £300 from your savings, and buy £300 worth of goods, presents, items for the new house on the credit card, or anything else that you might otherwise have spent cash on.

Don't tell me you are just about to complete on a house purchase and you don't even have £300 in the bank

You can have multiple funding methods on one account but I am not certain you can fund the account with a credit card and then withdraw the funds to a current account.

If you fund your account with a credit card, or pay someone with one, there is a 3.4%+20p fee which is paid by the recipient of the funds. You dont normally see it because your the one sending the funds but if you are paying yourself you will

Paypal will probably put a soft hold on it, so it won't work unless you have two established paypal accounts in different names, which would be fraudulent.
