a good few months ago I rang Barclaycard for a apr reduction the said yes and reduced it to 15%


I then 6 months ago took out a a 32 month platinum and was given the best possible apr of 18.9%


last week I applied for the new 11.9 apr card, got declined, but has now been referred to appeal (quite happy to have one of my existing credit limits reduced and applied to new card)




while on phone the advisor said they could put me through to another dept to discus possibility of having aprs reduced, on one of my cards to that of 11.9 instead of taking out the new card.


transferd to an amazing guy in the uk, went through both accounts, and the computer allowed him to:


a) lower my 14.9 card to 11.9
b) more surpassing,lowered the 18.9 apr 32 month balance card (which still has years to run) to 14.9% apr!


cant fault this company at all and will continue to recommended them, this was not him overriding the system this is what the computer would allow him to do, he stressed this was not a temporary reduction and would be a on going thing for the foreseeable future.


I advise any of you who have the naughty intial card and have held this card for over a year, to pick up the phone right now, ask for a upgrade to a platinum account and ask for a apr reduction (I have not held the initial) and for the rest of you have any other card to pick up the phone and ask to see if there is a apr reduction available to you too.


name any other credit card provider that will do this, and I hold many, as I am yet to see any other example of any other credit card provider doing this.
