bank account advice ID problems!

Hi so my partner and i have been together 8yrs and we use hes bank account to pay all the bills as there mostly in my name my tax credits and child benefit goes into hes account. So we went to natwest to ask if i could be added to hes account would be so much easier. We filled the forms out but the problem is my ID. I dont have a driving license or passport i had my water bill child tax credit form and council tax bill which they said was fine as proof of address but i have nothing to prove im me. She said i could update my out of date provisional but thats £50.
I wondered if anyone had advice if there was any other banks that except different ID maybe we could open a joint account?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Most banks publish a list of what they'll accept. Why not check what that says for your chosen bank.

A list of acceptable id for Natwest is given here
(This is the list for use in branch - there's a different list for postal applications)
    http://personal.natwest.com/personal/current-accounts/ID-required-branch.html

What is the £50 you mention for?
The only time I see that applies is after your licence has been revoked (under the New Drivers Act)
    https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-fees

A provisional licence does not appear as acceptable proof of ID on the Natwest list. (it rarely is)

If you really don't have any of the items mentioned on the list, all you can do is talk to the bank and see what else they may be prepared to accept.
  • Thanks for all your advice. I just assumed it was £50 as i thought i had to buy a new one so thank you for the link thats much more affordable. :)
  • could you get a proof of age or citizen card as proof of photo id?
