Hi I'm looking for recommendations for cheapest, good external hard drive please. I did get the flash drives Martin recommended but they aren't big enough for my music and photos so I thought external hard drive would be better

Keep an eye out over on the 'Quick Grabbit....' forum for the absolute cheapest. I suspect there are only a handful of drive makers in the world, therefore i wouldnt get too hung up on brand.
If you're going to be moving the files about a lot and if your pc / laptop supports it, get one with a firewire connection.
Also, finally, dont assume those drives never fail. The amount of people who store their entire photo library on an external HDD, then lose the lot when it crashes....0
