As others have said, get an s8 sorted.
It's your way forward.
Landlord hating scum
This guy is an amateur and has been told to wind his neck in - nothing wrong with that. This isn't a lemonade stand he's running, he's literally responsible for the roof over peoples heads and should know what his obligations and rights are. Ignorance is no excuse...0 -
you have said that you called your tenant and it goes to answer machine. have you sent a text??? at least your tenant will be able to see what you want to talk to them about. and tell them what you will be doing if they dont contact back within......x days.
did you carry out credit checks????
and get locks on all the rented rooms!!!!!! charge them if they lose a key. but you must tell them that when you issue them with a key.0 -

The guy was clearly concerned over the welfare of his tenant...it wasn't like he was trying to mug them off.
So why don't YOU wind YOUR neck in, and save your anger for those landlords who are genuinely absolute !!!!!!!s.
Yes this landlord went about things the wrong way, but some of the people in here were able to stay focused enough to tell him POLITELY to use a S8.
Grow up boy.0 -

Grow up boy.
I never once questioned the intent of the Landlord however that doesn't mean that its okay for him to fail to know his obligations.
My view is simple. Landlords, accidental or not, have chosen to set themselves up as a business and so I have little / no sympathy for those that don't know the laws and regulations of the sector that they choose to operate in.
I would expect other businesses (supermarkets, plumbers or doctors) to treat people according to the law of the land so why not a landlord? Particularly when their errors can have pretty devastating effects on their tenants. The main thrust of you argument is that 'yes, the landlord doesn't have a clue what he's doing but at least he seems a like a decent bloke'. I'm afraid I can't buy into that and if that makes me a 'landlord hater' so be it.
P.S. I'm sure in trying to construct an argument your leave patronising phrases such as 'grow up boy' out. Strangely it doesn't seem to make me want to treat you seriously0 -

I just think you could post in a way more becoming of a gentleman.
Good day to you sir.0 -
Thank you for the advice - of course I haven't posted anything offensive while you have managed to call people scum and be overtly patronising while not responding in any coherent fashion to points I raised. It doesn't seem like you a willing to enter into any meaningful discussion (which is strange given that you find yourself on a discussion board)0

Please kindly stop being so impertinent, good sir. Good day to you.0
