Another Tesco Direct tv !!!!-up

We ordered a tv from Tesco Direct on Black Friday, but it wasn't a Black Friday deal, it was just a coincidence.
Anyway, my wife got an email a few minutes after the purchase to say the tv would be received the following Tuesday, December 2nd. So my wife took the time off work to be here for the delivery. I'm disabled and wouldn't have been able to help the delivery driver out if he needed it. So the day came and went and no tv.
Then my wife got another email saying it would be delivered the following day, the 3rd of December. Another day off work, no tv.
Thursday 4th. Another day, another email, this time to say that the tv had been dispatched that day and would be delivered within 3 working days. Needless to say, it didn't turn up.
During all this, the order status showed the tv had been dispatched with Citylink and is sitting in a warehouse in Middlewich. Citylink's tracking has no record of the delivery number. Dispatch was 4th December with delivery 2nd December. Fair play to Citylink, they've perfected time travel. Maybe they can go back and correct a few of their delivery mishaps over the years.
Anyway, I called Tesco Direct CS last night. I explained to the CS rep what had, or hadn't, happened. She apologised and said that they had had problems with their suppliers and also stock level issues. She said that according to her computer screen, the tv was dispatched yesterday, 8th December, and should be with us today, 9th. She couldn't say for sure if it would be delivered but there was a strong possibility it would be.
I told her that on the order status screen, the tv was sitting in a warehouse in Middlewich. She said that was different to what her screen said. She said she also had no idea why we would've gotten dispatch and delivery dates confirmation when the tv hadn't been dispatched until 8th December. She also had no idea why Citylink would have no record of the delivery details either.
So fast forward to today, 9th December and no tv. The order screen is still the same. Citylink still has no record of the delivery number.

So I'm just off the phone with Tesco CS again. The details that they have for Citylink aren't whats shown on the screen. The rep checked the Citylink website and it says that on the 5th it was noted that delivery couldn't be made and redelivery had been agreed. I am really shocked at that. It is blatant bare-faced lying. The CS rep has taken "ownership" of this and will contact Citylink tomorrow to find out whats happening and will call me when he has details.
My only worry now is that Citylink will say the tv was delivered and one of the drivers, or a member of their family or a friend, will be sitting with a lovely new 40" smart tv. It wouldn't be the first (or last) time this will have happened.
As an aside, my brother also ordered a tv from Tesco Direct the same day but again, this wasn't a Black Friday deal. He was told that Citylink had tried to deliver his order 3 times and had no contact from him so they were returning it to Tesco. So he called Citylink and basically told him they were lying and that he hadn't even had one card from them, let alone three. Citylink had it at his door within 45 minutes.

Got a callback from Tesco today. Citylink are saying they tried to deliver the tv twice, on the 4th and 5th last week, and are now declaring it "lost". The cs rep says they have no hope of ever seeing the tv again, as I suspected. On a brighter note, the tv we bought is now out of stock so they're giving us the next model up, which is £75 dearer, at no extra cost. And its being delivered by a different delivery company.0

Middlewich Warehouse is like the Bermuda triangle, the number of items that are "dispatched" from there, never to be seen again.0
