Oh no!! Didn't see this and we did the Mr Muscle stuff tonight. (Hubby bought it in the online shop which was delivered this evening). Unfortunately, the water still hadn't drained when we got home at gone 9pm, and has only gone down a little bit more since doing the Mr Muscle.
The problem now is that when brushing our teeth the water has backed up into the bath, it's all brown!
I'm really worried now!!0 -
Have you tried lots and lots of boiling water? I don't mean a single kettle full, but maybe 3-4 kettles full.0

We've called our home emergency cover - they're coming this evening.0

Don't forget to let the plumber know what you've poured down there to avoid them getting chemically burnt - good luck!0

Thank you - will do!0

Once it's fixed, the foamer stuff I mentioned (or a similar drain cleaner) chucked down it once a month will stop a repeat.0

So it took over an hour for the plumber to clear the blockage - which was several metres down the pipes. He thinks it sounds like something which has been there for years, before we moved in. He also said that us putting down one product after another - even with days or weeks in between - was pretty risky because these chemicals mixed together can damage the pipes or worse.
Fortunately, it's now clear and we have fast draining water again - which we've never had since moving in - which is great. Going forward the plumber said a spoonful of baking soda or some soda crystals with hot water once a month is an ideal preventative measure.
Phew! Thank goodness for my home insurance emergency cover!0
