Please Help- Disabled Parking Bay- Wrong Time

My Uncle parked in a Disabled Bay as he has a right to do so cause my Auntie is Disabled. Both of them are in their seventies. My Auntie who can be very testing was being her usual impatient self to my uncle on how much time he was taking to get the wheelchair out the boot and helping her into it so that they can do their shop. in all the frantic trying to rush for my spirited Auntie my Uncle forgot to adjust the time he arrived at the bay on his badge. when they got back to the car after 30 minutes a warden was standing over the car issuing a ticket. The time issued was 1540 and the time on the badge was set at 1600. The Contravention is as follows..-Parked in a designated disabled persons parking place without clearly displaying a valid disabled persons badge in THE PRESCRIBED MANNER. We would like to appeal but am unsure on the way and wording to go about this. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

  • Was this a council issued ticket? If so then you need to pop over to Pepipoo..

This forum deals largely with private parking companies.

    Best wishes with it though.

Show us your pepipoo thread so we can see the appeal wins in the end, with their help (almost always does). First appeal in this sort of case should be a genuine 'sorry our mistake, won't happen again, please extend the spirit of the season and cancel it as I understand that the Council's policy is to allow discretion to a disabled badge Holder for an error like this, as a one off'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I would suggest the first action is as Coupon-mad above says, a nice apologetic letter to the council explaining the circumstances as you have posted here, then maybe with luck they will cancel the ticket.
