check system message Honda civic

My 2006 Honda civic started to display the check system message more or less every time I started the car. However, it did not display one of the message icons as well as if it had done I would have looked this up in the handbook. Two weeks ago I took the car to my local Honda garage who confirmed it was a problem with the battery and it would need replaced. I had that done for £95 but over the last week the car has started displaying check system again but no other warning lights come on. Has anyone come across this before?

Thank you for any advice.

I would take it back and ask them to run another diagnostic, without the kit it could take a long time to figure out what is wrong. You don't have to go to a main dealer mind, the electronic diagnostics are universal these days so you could use a trusted independent in the future to save money.
