These tours never include the westcountry either (Bristol and down).

So living in Plymouth we tend to get ignored!

Im fed up with America's not knowing their own history! When they see Im from Plymouth they assume I mean the one in America, I explain Im from the UK one.

    Cue:

    'Oh is that near London?'

No its where the pilgrims sailed from who founded your country! Surely they should know that?!?!

The few "cultured" Americans who have tried marmite hate it.

When I was in Colorado, I was asked if I had corgis and if I knew the Queen!

I've also seen travel questions such as "do you need injections to go to England?" and "I'm really worried because I'm going to Wales and I don't speak any Welsh" and "Why does England have three names?"

    Hi there

am fed up with businesses, companies etc saying they are going to 'do a tour of the United Kingdom' and then fail to cross the Severn Bridge into Wales! Isn't wales part of the UK? I know Scotland also gets this treatment and as for Northern ireland - they don't even get things near to them! It's about time the United Kingdom was treated as a UNITED Kingodm and not England alone!

    Here endeth the Rant!

I can see you are angry about this, but it's not really treatment, it's uneducated peoples perception of what the UK is surely.

All I can say is try not to take the anger out on English people and start hating us as some do, it's not our fault!

I was not having a 'dig' at the English - what I am having a dig about is the way businesses small and large forget that the UK is made up of more than just England. I am English myself but I do object when a company/organisation says UK but means England!

Whn I was living in Florida, a freind asked me wether or not Iad had tea with the Queen, when I mentioned that I havent he was shocked and said "But you pay the queen, I thought all you Brits could go and have a cup of tea with the Queen because you pay for her". I couldnt answer that without sounding too patriotic

I think we bl00dy well should all be able to go and have tea with her for the amount she costs, especially now that she cannot even claim to be bringing in the tourists as was once apparently her main justification for existing in such a heavily subsidised bubble! Wouldn't fancy her job though - must be one of the most boring in the world...

When I was at college in Eastbourne I wound a fellow student up as we were going via Wales to Ireland on a field trip. I asked her if she had her Fern ticket to allow her into the Forest of Dean and her Welsh Currency and her passport. It's not just Americans, it's trainee teachers from Hailsham too.

Try living In Northern Ireland and having companies advertise "free UK delivery" or just "UK Delivery" only to be told when you order something "oh, sorry we only deliver to England, Scotland & Wales"..

My reply is always - so you deliver to Great Britain not The UK. Most are completely unaware that the UK is made up of England, Scotland, Wales (Great Britain) and Northern Ireland.

I realise that southern Ireland is not in the UK, but it really annoys me how

the conceited BBC weather totally ignores SI when doing a report.

Surely there are NIers and other Britains for that matter travelling, working,

living, visiting, holidaying etc in SI.

In many Continental countries, the weather is for the whole of Europe.

Is this an English thing, or a BBC thing?

    Thanks.
