Current account that offers phone insurance

My phone is perhaps, on the brink of death, the lock button cant be pressed or else it keeps rebooting.

It is out of warranty and I have a year left on the contract.

I tried to get it fixed, button replaced, its better but still temperamental. I think its a circuit board issue.

I know some banks offer mobile phone insurance for a monthly fee. Have any of you

a) ever signed up to these
b) successfully made a claim in a circumstance like this

I think technically you have to take out the insurance before it's broken, when you do get insurance, there is usually a period of two months where you cannot claim, unless I'm wrong?

Edit: Just to answer your question, Nationwide's Flexplus offers worldwide family mobile phone insurance, as does Natwest's Select Silver Account. Both at £10 per month, which includes other benefits.
