Switching bank accounts

Hi all,

I have been looking at switching my bank account to make use of switching bonuses but have a query I hope someone may be able to answer.
I have always remained in credit at my current bank and never borrowed any money apart from student loans, which have been payed back. My query is this. As my credit record is limited because of never having borrowed, am I more likely to be able to borrow from my current bank as they can see my record with them or will it make no difference?
Thanks in advance for your help

If you don't want to give up your credit record relating to your current account, you need a different account for switching.

It is probably a good idea to keep your original account as it will also be registered on your credit file and finance house like to see longevity.
