Vodafone retentions and empty promises
Options
Negotiated a renewal of my contract with vodafone a couple of months ago now. Initially was offered a deal for £11 a month, eventually the advisor agreed to give me a one off £20 credit to bring the cost down below £10 a month, as I said I could get a better offer than £11/month elsewhere.
I now discover that that £20 credit has never materialised, contacted vodafone and they have no record of it, surprise surprise. The 'best they can offer' is a one off credit of a month's line rental, which I've told them isn't acceptable.
Anyone else had experience of this? Seems clear to me that the advisor blatantly lied to me to get me to renew. I can accept that he may have simply forgotten to do this, but I find it very strange that there are no notes on the account about it whatsoever...

£20 is a very small price to pay for realising at last how rubbish Vodafone's CS are and how you have to deal with them.
It often costs much more.0 -
It's also the reason I'd never accept a deal over the phone from anyone without written confirmation (proof!) first.0
