Premier Park Ltd

Hi, please could someone help me as im usure of what to do, I got a parking ticket in may this year for not displaying a ticket, I did pay for one which was on my seat when i got to my car, anyway I didnt do nothing about it and heard nothing from them. Last week I was handed a bunch of mail which had gone to my old address where i moved from in sept 13, theres mail from premier park ltd stating i have to pay £150 as i didnt display a parking ticket, the latest letter is one from a 'small claims solicitors SCS' telling me to contact debt recovery plus before they obtain a county court judgement against me for payment, ive just rang this number to explain what had happened and told them that i still have my ticket as proof but they basically told me its too late and i have to pay the debt as there is photographic evidence to prove it wasnt on display. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Start by reading the Sticky thread for NEWBIES at the top of the main page. This explains everything you need to do including how to make a late appeal. It also tells you to ignore anything and everything from debt collectors. Do not ignore a letter before claim/action or real court papers.

Never, ever, ever 'phone a PPC or a debt collector.

Google 'small claims solicitors parking' to find forum threads on pepipoo and here about those letters. You can't search the forum for such generic words but an internet search will find the threads if you include the word 'parking'.

  • Hi Birksy. Premier do rarely try court but if you have your ticket they'd be incredibly stupid and unlikely to try. As it is you are just being subjected to their laughable efforts to scare you. IIRC Premier use Trethowans so unless you get anything from them you are OK.

Hi Ryan thanks for that, so what would be your next step if you were in my predicament? I was thinking of calling premier park ltd direct but have read on here not to contact them.

Correct. Never, ever phone a PPC or debt collector. As to what I'd do, I would write to Premier stating again that a valid ticket was purchased and displayed enclosing a scan of it and that you have no intention of being scammed by them. State that you consider the matter closed and that any further correspondence will be considered harassment.
You have right on your side. You should be angry and determined.

That's great thank you very much for your help, it was starting to worry me abit, if it wasn't for this website I probably would have rang them and ended up paying for it. Should I give them my new address?

Your first concern should be trying to avoid a real fine from the DVLA for not sending them your new address as registered keeper a year ago. It's not the same as just sending off your driving licence, you are obliged to keep your address up to date as far as your V5 is concerned as well. So check that and sort it urgently.

As for the other matter, as long as you can collect the mail regularly you could ignore the letters or you could simply respond to Premier Park (not bothering to even reply to to the silly middle man pretending to be a solicitor). State that they have written to you at the wrong address so please update their records and cancel the PCN because the charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss and there was no loss because the driver kept the P&D ticket as proof and here is a copy of it.

(keep the original and do NOT say who was driving and for the love of GOD stop telephoning - you have given a debt collector firm your number?!!!!!!!).
