Two Together railcard problem

I applied online for a Two Together railcard on November 21 supplying all the information requested. I then got an email to say that the railcard had been dispatched.
By December 2 the railcard still hadn't arrived so I contacted them through the website and received another email saying the railcard had been sent.
The railcard I received on December 4 was backdated to November 27 and although I have complained that I have been penalised through no fault of my own, Railcard refuse to budge on my request to send me a card with a full validity from at least Dec 2.
I have now complained again and asked for the complaint to be escalated to a supervisor as the non arrival was not my fault. I haven't heard anything since.
As I have bought some train tickets for December 21 and 22 I wont be able to cancel the card as I will need to use it.
Has anyone any suggestions on how I can proceed?
Cheers
Sarah

Accept the situation and get in with your life. It really isn't worth the hassle over a few days0

27th November is probably when it got printed. You've been shorted by about 50p worth of validity on the railcard but saved £3 by ordering it online.
According to their FAQ's that they will dispatch it within one working day (they clearly didn't, but they adjusted the start date to reflect that). It also says it will be sent by 1st class post and it should arrive within 5 working days, which it did (just) from when it was printed. It's frustrating but I doubt there's much you can do about it!0 -
Railcard print with an extra week's validity on each card to make up for posting times. This didn't happen in my case and it will likely cost me more than 50p because of the loss of discount if I purchase tickets.
As to getting on with my life, it is better to let others know that these kind of problems occur and get them sorted!0 -
In the scenario that I was travelling and the railcard didn't turn up before in the advertised timescale, if necessary I would purchase one from the station to ensure I didn't miss out on the discount and would send the one ordered online back. If they didn't agree to refund I would start a dispute with my card provider.0

You don't get the discount of the railcard so the OP would be £3.00 worse off. then doing it online.
I do think its a lot of fuss over nothingBut if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more0 -

Don't think you have missed out if the original card had been processed on time it would have been dated 21 or22 Nov. Yours is dated 27 Nov.
Only complaint you could have is if you wanted to buy tickets between 22-26 Nov but this was not the case.0 -
I think the gripe is about what happens when the card is coming up to expiry next year and any tickets that might be needed then.0

I do think its a lot of fuss over nothing
Some Train Companies will very much "fuss over" a passenger who tries to use such a Railcard for the advertised 12 month validity, and may even prosecute a passenger who attempts to do so.
Similarly, a Train Company may consider it a fuss over nothing if they overcharge a passenger by, say, 10p, yet they may prosecute a passenger who they allege underpaid by 10p as they consider that to be extremely serious.0 -
Railcard have now sent me a cheque for £5 so it was worth bringing this to their attention.0
