re. how to change a bulb on cheapo halogen heater

Ones like

I took the whole thing apart yesterday trying to 'replace a bulb' then found this on amazon (different heater to the one I had but same principle)

You need to remove six screws from each side panel. Then remove the black grill followed by the honeycombed one, this is quite fiddly. The bulbs are then removed and the replacements slotted in quite easily. It takes up to an hour the first time then quicker the more you do. The handle types are even more awkward to do!

But my bulb wouldn't quite fit (by a few mm - just 1 or 2) so had fun with that...

Finally at 4.30 am I got it sorted. Heater doesn't look fab with black grill half in/half out at top but works and I think if it lasts me a year (was less than £20 new) then am happy smiley.png

I don't know how to change the bulb, however, I recommend getting oil radiator instead.
I always feel halogen heater has higher risk for fire...

I thin k the clues in your title, "cheapo".

You can get these things for under a tenner, personally I wouldn't even bother with the repair, but great that you have done it, :money:but how much was the lamp before I pat you on the back tho'
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

^^^ My thoughts exactly. I'm surprised that a replacement is even available.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

In that case well done but I still wouldn't have bothered, I think we still have a couple of those in the loft, they seem fairly safe with fall over failure etc, but I'm still not sure.
