Hi,
My father applied for FD 1st Account online today. Accepted immediately with sort code and account number. Their was option to switch account which we did not complete. Did not had card with him. Thought will do it later on.
Now on their website their is no option apply. It says just to ring their lines. Do they send switching form with their welcome?

No. You ring them to switch, they input the details by phone and then they send you the switching paperwork for you to then ring them again to confirm you want to go ahead with the switch.0 -
Do you think it is a good idea to switch before you have full access to your account, incl online access, card and PIN? Even if you just switch a dispensable account I wouldn't rush into switching. If it is a critical account you switch, you could end up with no access to any money.0

Switch process has now changed.
You pick a date that the switch takes place, then everything is switched, including payments into the account, within 7 days. Balance transfers done immediately. After the switch, any debit card payments are automatically sent to the new account, cheque payments debit the new account and all payments in are forwarded for 13 months in the event that the switch doesn't work for those payments in that it should work for. This now applies to all uk banks. Tbh, you're better off with the Santander 123 account.0 -
don't think it has changed since 16 October 2013?jondavis30 wrote: »Switch process has now changed.
How can you say that? The 123 is a great current account but they don't have a switch incentive or 6% Regular Saver which might be what the OP's father is after. In any case, it doesn't have to be an "either or" as people are free to have multiple current accounts.jondavis30 wrote: »Tbh, you're better off with the Santander 123 account.0
