Littlewoods crap service

I oredered a cast iron garden fyrniture set from Littlewoods and it came without the table top, in a really shoddy ripped looking box.I rang them and arranged for them to collect it, cos it weighs a ton, as well as the parasol stand which i don't need without the table. They arranged it for 30.07.07 between 9.30am and 6.30pm, so I accepted this, even though it would probably mean staying in all day.Anyway yesterday I got a call saying they'd pick it up today in between 11am and 3pm if that was ok with me, so I said yeah.I know it's only 3.40pm but I just rang them and they said no it is still monday, and they have no idea why anybody would say it was today:eek:
.
So to sum up , they delivered me a faulty item, i rang them at my cost, and had to buy a roll of parcel tape and struggle to refasten the box which is unmoveable cos it's soo heavy.I have been stuck in all day today and will be on monday.
Forget ordering from them unless its something you can take back to the post office yourself:mad:

Always been the case im affraid, they will not guarantee the delivery or collection dates, its shocking isnt it. As you may guess from my previous posts but i WAS connected to them in the past in a senior position . . .
So i know ALL the issues!0 -

Shame it's an outdoor item that won't get damaged in the rain. I once told a company who didn't collect when they said that it was outside on the doorstep, and they could come and collect it when it suited them, but I wasn't taking responsibility for it. Strangely, that motivated them.
I'm currently taking littlewoods / great universal to court for their crapness. See my homepage link in my profile0 -
Just as a side topic, Podiluska, having read your blog, Just want to know exactly what you're trying to sue GUS for? They cancelled the order and refunded the money and you bought the buggy elsewhere. Apart from the cost of a couple of phone calls, how are you out of pocket and what exactly do you think a court will award you?0
