Xsara Picasso water level
Hi
I seem to have a water leak. The coolant level is starting to drop fast. It was slow before, but its emptied pretty quick over past few days. Also, when I accelerate I hear a hissing noise. Is this related? And also, is it a big job to fix a coolant leak?
Thanks in advance?

Depends where the leak is.also, is it a big job to fix a coolant leak?
If it's a hose then a matter of a few pounds in most cases, but if it's a head gasket then it can run in to £100's.
If you continue to run the car then it is quite possible to crack the cylinder head (and that will probably cost you more than what the car is worth).
First thing you need to do is establish where the water is going. Once you know that then you'll know how much you are spending.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car

Thanks. Will take it to the garage

Keep it topped up and if the temperature gauge goes higher than normal or you smell the engine getting hotter then pull over and let it cool.
Overheat it and the bill could be much worse.
Hissing or gurgling noises can be airlocks where the water is boiling on one part
of the engine and no water in other parts.
Like pouring water on a hot stove.
Just filling the expansion tank doesnt remove the air from the system, you need to bleed it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
