Warning Loan Scam
Options
I applied for a loan this morning and wasn't surprised to receive a call to discuss my requirements
As I have a poor credit history and this morning discovering that I was not on the electoral roll, voted for 14 years from same place, I was not phased by the company asking for an admin fee upfront.
I re checked their name "True Loans", asked for a web address and did a search on the phone number........web address fine, no complaints on the number
All proceeded well and I paid, she called me back to confirm that they had received it and it would be processed shortly, her manager would call me to confirm my account details.
He duly phoned an hour later......................wanting a "Tax Fee" at that point I put a stop to it and called them a scam demanding my fee back. They have re called me 6 times in last hour, as my loan is just but a step away.
I have put a complaint into "True Loans" and will be calling my bank to see if anything can be done
BUT I wanted to warn everyone, her name is Christine and the manager is Peter

Did you pay the "admin fee" to them?,if so check your bank account over the next few weeks as you may find you have gave other loan vultures access to take money from your account.
You should never have to pay any upfront fee,the whole purpose of a loan is that they lend you the money.0 -
Not sure why you think warning others will make a difference, when all the warnings on here didn't stop you handing over your debit card details.
You should have been phased at them asking for an admin fee. That's the point you hang the phone up!0 -
I didn't hand over my card details at all, I paid via bank transfer.......................YES very stupid, where are the posts that warn of this directly, I have read 4 pages of loan posts and not one warns that your details can be passed from a legitimate "broker" to an illegal lender with a UK number and bona fide website.Debt Free Diary - Second Chances! I think the point is that they are anything but a 'legitimate broker' :eek:0

Find me a post where there's a positive outcome resulting from paying a broker to find you a loan.
It doesn't happen.
You got greedy, saw the ££ signs and sent them money you don't have.0 -
Is this True Blue Loans you are warning people about? It's the loan company that came up when I searched online, haven't found a True Loans yet.

If so then you might well have read 4 pages of loan posts (does that mean reviews) but not the terms and conditions.0 -

My response was a reply to there being lots of posts on here about this scam, I failed to find any in 4 pages.
I only intended to warn others desperate for help when the High Street is shut to them, that is allDebt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0
