Premier Park - No reply to appeal (12 months later - Debt collection)

I have searched and searched for a thread that covers this situation but haven't had any success.

I received a PCN for parking next to the wall in my gym car park, it is a free car park with the gym. They have signs up however the area parked is regularly used by members of the gym and was used by many. It however changed when Premier Park seemed to worm there way into the car park.

I read previous threads and took the advice to write a letter saying I refuse to pay due to the reasons in other threads. I received no reply to my appeal and then had a letter demanding even more money, then when I went to appeal it was too late to appeal through POPLA because apparently they had replied to my appeal. Yet I had received absolutely NO communication.

I then spoke with someone at the BPA who had investigated it but said there was nothing they could do. Premier park did however back off and I heard nothing from them again...Until now. One year after the original parking charge I have received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd demanding the usual £160 or court action will be taken.

I am very worried about this as I cannot afford this at this point in time. My worry different to other threads is that I have spoken with someone at BPA and they said there was nothing they could do. Does this mean they are likely to take it to court and the cost rises even further?

I would send an email complaint to the BPA, not mentioning that it's been investigated before, last year!

Just tell them that you appealed and never got a POPLA code, though the matter was over but now have this letter. Attach a copy. Ask for a POPLA code.

See what the BPA say.
