Nexus 7 is still a good buy.
Also the Nvidia Shield has decent specs, more gaming orientated perhaps but is still a tablet.
Those would be my 2 choices, pure Android experience and you'll get the latest updates.0 -
Thank you I don't use any games mostly just email FB surfing the net for purchases I would perhaps want to make reading the paper some of the things I do on my phone It is low spec Nokia Lumia 520 but it meets my needs I am a silver surfer and I do appreciate advice on these forums

If you've got a stack of Clubcard vouchers - Hudl 2. If you're neck deep in the Amazon ecosystem - Kindle etc, buy the Fire, with limitations including being stuck with Amazon's app store, not Google Play. Otherwise the Nexus 7 is great, and is £140 in Currys if you can find it...0

I don't have any Tesco vouchers and although I do have a kindle paperwhite which I love do not have any fixed idea of how I should go Thanks for the information I appreciate it

If you have a large Tesco near you, why not pop in and compare the different tablets in the flesh? You'll be able to compare the different screens and see what is best for you. Take notes and then you can decide later....and maybe find some discount vouchers online to get a better price.0

Just had another thought. As you are familiar with Windows on your phone, you might like to consider the HP Stream 7, or some of the other budget Windows tablets.

Hudl2 is very good and great value. Nice big screen too (8.1"). I'm very pleased with mine.0

Do you only need WiFi, or do you need 3G too?0

Bear in mind, a WiFi only device will only get online, when it is within range of an accessible Hot Spot, whereas a 3G one will also get online, when it's within range of a suitable mobile phone tower.0
