Phone Apps are running my battery down, what can I do?

Hello all,

I have a nokia Lumas 520, and recently having my phone has been hell.

I go to bed with half a battery, and find in the morning the battery is dead.

I have looked online and discovered my data usage has sored quite alot.

I have thought about deleating all the apps which I have down loaded. is there an option I can identify which apps require more or less data???

Having no battery power in the morning, and my concern of data usage concerns me greatly!!
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

Look in the settings and see which app it is that is using up the most power.
Should be in settings - Battery saver.
Do you close out the apps or just leave them running in the background?
Make sure 'Battery Saver' is switched on.

Yes, delete useless apps and check their settings to turn off any features that might keep the phone awake.

When uninstalling apps it is not sufficient to simply delete the shortcut icon. My parents got into a mess with my nephew downloading games onto their Nexus 7, to delete them he simply removed the icon, so eventually the thing got so full of games/apps that it crawled to a halt and had to be wiped.

However it is simple to find out exactly which one is affecting his battery without the nuclear solution.....
The Nexus 7 is an Android phone.................Just saying..;)

It's an Android tablet and the version that allows a SIM card, can actually be used as a phone.
