Halifax Put A Card I Defaulted On in 2005 On My Experian Credit File

I recently (April 2014) got turned down for a Tesco Credit Card. I was surprised as I had (when last checked) in Dec 2013, a good Experian score of 968.
I was concerned, so I got another credit report form Experian. It said I had defaulted on a card of theirs on March 2014 to the sum of £2700. Impossible, as I has no Halifax Visa card.
As the days/weeks/months passed, I went from being called a liar to profuse apologies.
It turns out that the card in question dated back to 2001, when I was younger and got myself into some financial difficulties.
My argument was that I believed after 6 years this should have been wiped from my file.
Eventually, Halifax reimbursed me £447.00. This included the fee for the credit check on a rental property I got turned dow for, plus a little compensation. see attached letter.
Do you think all this sounds fare, or should I contact the Financial Ombudsman?
This is what the letter said...
As discussed we talked about your former Intelligent Finance credit card and the recent reappearance of this card, showing as Halifax, on your credit file. We discussed the impact this had on obtaining lending and the costs you have incurred as a result of this issue.
Please accept our apologies for whats happened, it is clear we let you down. This was our error, which occurred as part of a system change in February 2014.
As agreed, in acknowledgement of the issue we've arranged to pay you £447.00, into your chosen bank account. This is made up of:
£247.00 to cover call, credit check & credit file costs.
£200.00 for the upset and frustration this has caused.
In addition, as explained, I have arranged for this default to be urgently removed from your credit file. I will also monitor this account in the coming months to ensure it does not reappear.
I'm glad I have been able to resolve the situation for you. If you wish, you have the option to contact the Financial Ombudsmen service, as long as you do this within six months.
If you have any questions or further information, please feel free to call me.
Now, do you think this is sufficient, or should I push further. Should I contact the ombudsman?
Thank you.

If £247 is a true reflection of the costs you incurred I think it's reasonableChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Considering you owe them £2700 I think your quids in and should leave it at the money you have received.
Remember the 6 year rule may apply but you still owe the money. All that glitters is not gold.0 -
I would also contact the FCO about the CRA distributing false information.I can't add up.0
