hello

I bought a new Sony Vaio earlier this year (Windows 8).

Recently, the internet has been very slow. The Openreach engineer came out yesterday and said there was no fault with the line or the exchange and OH's laptop works well.

Can someone help me with my laptop please. And if you need info, please let me know and tell me how I can find out the info you need to help me please. Treat me like a very small child, as I'm not very good at this sort of stuff.

Thanks.

Just uploading pages is very slow or it just times out. Sometimes the connection is lost.

I've not tried a speed test, but the BT guy said the line was showing 10GB (I think it was GB).

I am very close to the router, about 2m away from it, I moved close to the router, but it didn't make much difference.

    Thank you.

run a couple of speedtests on both your and hubby's laptops (ie same speedtester, run on one then immediately on the other) and see how far apart the results are, post em up and take it from there...

My laptop is newer than his and I think better (it was more expensive!).

    His results: 8.04, 7.20, 8.38
    Mine: 7.87, 7.97, 8.33.

    Thanks.
