Painting Reed screening ?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0423333.htm

I want to buy this, for my garden, and am going to nail it to my fence!

I want to paint it darker.
Can I use creosote (sp?)

Don't think you can buy or use creosote anymore due to EU pesticide laws or something like that... If you just mean can you use a fence paint I don't see why not, although it might go darker with age anyway. It will be messy to paint though & a spray might be easier (though could be more more messy!?) :o
It might be more cost effective to go for the darker willow screening in the first place, if that's the right colour for you?

B & Q still sell creosote, I think whatever was nasty in it has been removed. Must admit I was quite surprised to see it on sale as I also thought it had been banned. If I'm remembering correctly the price wasn't much different to wood preservative fence stuff.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
