Gross misconduct hearing next week – I need urgent advice please

It will save you the heartache of the hearing and you can walk out of the store with your held high, not to mention future references- you can add them to your CV without worrying.
You need to be very careful about that, a reference only has to be factual, so in this case it could read resigned whilst under investigation for Gross Misconduct.0 -
nat21luv,Im so sorry, I didnt mean to be brutal, I wrote it with the best of intentions.
When they start the hearing they should ask you if theres anything you wish to bring to their attention before it starts, this is an invitation to hand in your notice so I would have it prepared. If they dont ask then I would ask to interject, thank them for empolying you and hand it in.

Mentally, put it in a box, padlock it closed and put it to the back of your mind. You will have a christmas as this is just a small blip. You are worrying about the unknown, so write your own path; write your notice today so that you know your future....and then drink, eat and be merry!
I like brutal honesty. Really.
I am not sure about the notice, I don't think it would make any difference, only if they would say they will fire me or I can give my notice in and no further action would be taken. In that case I think I will. At least I will have it in hand. But I don't think they will offer that.0 -
ohreally,You do realise a resignation does not have to be accepted and if the op offers it and walks, the employer can continue the hearing in the op's absence, with the reference noting this?
That's what I was thinking about! I would have my notce, but I gusee I will give it if they say that it would save me from firing. Highly doubt they would offer it though.0 -

I definitely do not want that. Only I ill do that if they would offer it in exchange of dropping the case. And I am sure they will not do that.
I will have it with me just in case, but that's all.0 -
Hi
A couple of questions and a comment.
How long have you worked for them?
What has your sister got to do with the case? Im wondering why they wont let her come in with you?
Prepare your defence on the basis (if you can prove) that other people have done the same thing as you and they are still in employment. They can not only sack you if the others are guilty as well and you can prove it.
Play on the fact that the Team Ldr used your discount card as well. That must be against the rules as well. It can not be one rule for one, one rule for others.
If you have less than 2 years service unfortunately they can take a risk and sack you as there is little you can do. If you have more then the above will be a strong defence only if you can prove it.0 -

Lady007,
I work there since March.
I used my sister Nectar card unaware that I am not allowed to use it. (We live together and sharing every expenses).
I don't want to prove if others guilty as well. The bosses never were fair with me. I am sure they will use this mess to get rid of me.
I will honestly say the truth and face the consequences.0 -
I thought the original issue was that you let someone unrelated to you use your nectar card?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I'm sure the OP is answering the question about how his/her sister is related to the case. The fact that the sister's Nectar card was used is the reason she isn't allowed to accompany the OP to the meeting.
OP, I think you've acted admirably throughout. If I were in your position, I would probably do what Nat21luv suggests, especially if you sense you are going to be fired anyway. You can then leave with your head held high.
I hope you had a lovely Christmas day, despite everything x0
