Black screen due to switching off graphics

Now before I get jumped on, it isn't me!
My nephew has just bought himself a bespoke gaming pc.
Firstly, I am surprised to be told it has TWO graphics cards - is this normal?
Now what he did was went into the device manager and switched off the 'internal' graphics card - he apparently believes that there is also an nVidia card and as he felt the nVidia card was not booting(?) up he thought if he disabled the 'other' one it would force the nVidia one into use.
The result of this is his screen is now black so he can't see anything to try and reverse the situation.
Any thoughts anyone please?
Thanks

There should be 2 video ports at the back of the PC for the monitor to be plugged into. Try the other one.0

Thank you for that. I've just phoned him and told him and he's going to give it a go.
Fingers crossed!

If that doesnt work ask him how he disabled it.
Was it in Windows or in the BIOS?0 -
as above, he went into the device manager, found the internal graphics card and right clicked which gave him the option of switching the card off or disabling it.:cool:0

The message I've just received says ' its the hmdi cable and there is only 1 socket'.....
I don't even know if that makes sense?

In that case then presumably he just had the monitor plugged into the onboard video card port, which he disabled.
We'll find out soon enough.
EDIT: I have a tendency to "not" properly read!0 -

Connect it to your TV?0 -
Sounds like it was only disabled in Windows (device manager). In which case it should briefly show a display when first turning on and running through the POST. After that tap F8 before Windows starts and select safe mode. Once in safe mode go back into device manager, enabled the device and reboot.0

Colins solution should get the screen back working.
But getting back the original query about the gaming PC. If there is 2 graphics cards (normally as 1 on-board and 1 dedicated) there should be 2 separate places to plug the HDMI cable into and he should be using the dedicated card port.0 -
Should have been done in the BIOS, not in Windows.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
