Something is not right here. Smart have always cancelled tickets I have handled, over 100 in 4 years. I have never been to POPLA with Smart Parking or Town as they also were. Either a change in tactics or your letter is not quite as you sent it.0

You do not pay. You can now cost them money - £27 for using your POPLA code.
So, get yourself off to POPLA - lots of templates here...

Do post your (redacted) draft for comment. And follow up that complaint at ASDA - the ASDA head office is the best place to send it.
And check how long your POPLA code is valid for at the site below...

I know this car park very well, you wont have had a windscreen ticket because its ANPR controlled.
I thought they had 14 days to write to you if it was not a windscreen ticket?0 -

You then simply win at POPLA which is already covered, with winning POPLA examples ready to copy & tweak, in the newbies thread. This is easy, exactly like all the other cases we see and beat at POPLA, already covered in the 'How to win at POPLA' hyperlink. Why are you posting as if you don't know how to win at POPLA when you are on a forum which tells you exactly how!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If the ASDA fobs you off, then its even more reason to go for them.
if they try it on then they deserve everything you can chuck at them.
Although it will be the ASDA corporate machine that will be held liable ( and end up paying out to you if you take it that far) It should be the individual store managers that are held to account. If that was the case then smart parking would soon be sent packingFrom the Plain Language Commission:
