Connecting Tablet to TV - Options?

I used to have a tablet with a mini-HDMI connector which enabled me to connect the tablet to a TV to view videos. However I have to replace it and cannot find an affordable wifi enabled tablet (android) with a mini-HDMI connector for an affordable price.
Does anyone have a solution for how to connect a tablet to stream video through TV other than a hdmi connector? I dont think VGA cables are the solution and although a future tablet will have a mini-USB I dont think that would help? Thanks in advance.

My second generation Nexus 7 is miracast enabled, so I stream BT Sport from it through a Push2TV wireless thing connected via HDMI to the TV, works well. BUT - Sky does not work with Miracast for some unknown reason. I believe you can do the same with Google Chromecast.0

Chrishazle is right, Chromecast would do this and will work with pretty much any tablet.

And it's only £30 (you can find it cheaper on ebay too)If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Thanks Chrishazle. The replacement tablet I have in mind is a Asus MeMO ME176CX. I know what you mean by Chromecast - also thought about Roku. So in principle if I used Chromecast I could stream Blinkbox, running on the tablet and connected to Chromecast, to the TV?0

Meepster. I guess this looks like it would work and seems to be half the price?

Yes, it would work, there are a lot of similar devices out there I'd imagine.
The only thing I would say is there are a lot more apps supported by the Google product and is more likely to supported long term.
I guess only you can decide if the extra £13 is worth it or not...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
