Ideal isar he24 boiler help

I have an ideal ISAR he24 boiler and it developed a H3 fault a few days ago. Central heating worked fine and although d was lit on my display and gas was burning, it intermittently brang up the H3 error code.

I had an engineer out today and he changed the DHW thermistor and although it initially cleared the fault, after he went I am now getting the same H3 error code. Again the D light shows and burner light is lit steady when the hot water tap is on but the H3 code intermittently comes up.this leads to me having cold water.

Could anyone point me in the right direction with regards to this?

Your help would me much appreciated.

Probably don't want to hear it but an awful boiler! Could be dodgy new thermistor, could be PCB. Make sure there's no leaks anywhere, even a little
Onto the electrics could make it play up.
  • Thanks mate for the reply.i know its a terrible boiler but cant really afford to purchase a new one atm..this morning it brang up an LF fault code and when i pressed reset the boiler started working as per usual. However, the initial fault of H3 always reoccurs after a min or so of the tap being left on.

Do you think the two could be linked?

FL is ignition lockout I think so shouldn't be related but if the problem is PCB it maybe giving different codes, or you may have another fault which wouldn't surprise me. I'd look into getting some cover for it, you could end up spending a fortune on those boilers
