Restarting 2007 charges reclaim on Egg/Barclays under hardship

Hello, I'd like to have a go at reclaiming my old bank charges as I'm about to undergo major op and my income is likely to go down. I went through the whole process back in 2007 and still have all my paperwork - i.e. letters I wrote, SAR, list of fees, statements, calculated interest etc. At the time I was trying to reclaim on Lloyds (1400), Egg (1500) and Barclays ….wait for it (8000!). I got the Lloyds payout, and had a court date for the Barclays one after I rejected their 1300 offer. (in fact I paid 120 for that court date - can I get that back?)And then they stopped accepting them... I was totally gutted and have got on with things and forgotten about it up to now. Since then I've been treated for cancer, and a few years down the line, I'm having some more issues which means I'll need a major op. I have been absolutely anal the last few years about not missing payments to rebuild my credit record so my bank account doesn't look in terrible hardship, but my income is about to go down and I've had to pay off overdraft etc with loans and have built up credit cards again. What do you think I should do now? IS there anything I can do? - the charges relate April 2001-March 2007. Though I bet I have more since then. My other issue is that when I tried to contact Egg re PPI last year, the old Egg address I contacted said they'd been sold to Barclays, and then Barclays couldn't help as it was Egg. Then eventually an 'Egg' rep from Prudential (!) who wouldn't leave a number called to say definitely no PPI. However now I have the statements in front of me I can clearly see there is!

Sorry for that explosion of info. Any thoughts anyone? I've just had a small grant from Macmillan for travel, but I would much rather get the money that I paid the banks back!.

Thank you for reading. :A
