UKPC ticket

Hi folks,

I'm after a bit of advice. I parked in a disabled bay in a private car park and came back to a UKPC ticket on my window. I've read through the newbies thread but I'm a bit confused with all the info!

Had a ticket on the window about a month ago
Waited til the notice to keeper arrived before responding
I've slightly adapted the letter template from the very-knowledgeable Coupon-Mad on https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/63814146#Comment_63814146
to send to UKPC

Is this the right thing to do...?

The first question is, were you entitled to park in a disabled space as the thread you have quoted refers to the EA2010?

The second is, was this in England/Wales?

Waiting for the NTK was absolutely the right thing to do as long as this wasn't a hire/lease car.

Then go with that appeal modified to suit your case. If you want to post it up here with personal details removed, the experts will cast an eye over it before you send it off.

I'm not sure if you can do the appeal online (not all PPCs have that facility) but if you decide to post it, send it first class from a Post Office and get a free certificate of posting. Never 'phone a PPC, and never send anything recorded delivery because an unscrupulous PPC could refuse to sign for it thus getting proof that it was not delivered.

if you appealed , complain to the BPA with copies of all correspondence

also complain to the landowner and threaten them with a counter claim under the EA 2010

So after receiving many threatening letters, and having my letters ignored, I complained to the landowner. The landowner have gotten the ticket cancelled as "a one-off, goodwill gesture".

Any win is a win. Well done on getting it cancelled.

also ... threaten them with a counter claim under the EA 2010.

Water under the bridge now, but what is the likely result of such action? From my reading, it seems that, unless the PPC's action leads to a substantial financial loss, the most likely outcome is a slap on the wrist for the wrongdoer.

While this may be mortifying for a doctor's surgery, or even John Lewis, it would be meaningless to a PPC.
