Ending fixed term tenancy early

Hi
I signed up for the tenancy of a flat via Estate Agents on September 1st of this year. Fixed term of six months. I paid six months rent in advance. Let us call it Flat A.
I very quickly realized that I had made a huge mistake. I had grown up in the area many years ago but it had changed beyond all recognition. Most of the people I had known previously had either died, moved or disappeared. I decided I would move back to my previous location, where I had strong roots, as soon as the six months had expired.
As it happened my old landlord offered me my old flat back and I took it, so now I have two places of residence.
I have decided that it is just throwing good money after bad to keep Flat A as I have to pay utility bills and council tax and make sure the place is secure and heated and ventilated.
I propose to ask the LL to let me end the tenancy of Flat A before the end of the fixed term. Let us say two months before the end of the term. There is no "break" clause.
He already has the rent paid up front and I will ensure that I pay all outstanding bills and do everything as per my obligations.
However, I was just wondering if I have missed anything. Are there any problems I would be likely to encounter? Would be grateful for any advice.

So he can keep the rent, end the tenancy and find new people to move in?
Nope. He'd be a fool to say no0
