Economy 10 tariff providers

I am in the process of trying to research this and it hasn't exactly been easy!

I think I have identified three providers (who will also install a new meter): SSE, Green Energy and Good Energy.

EDF have today told me that they only supply existing meters and Eon have told me they no longer provide the tariff.

Does anyone know of any others please? I have searched previous posts on here but they're all a few years old. I found a very good website dedicated to economy 10 but it's a little out of date (it had listed Eon as a supplier).

The reason I am searching is that we are considering switching our one bedroom flat to a wet central heating system and we don't have a gas supply. We've been told that the only suitable system is the Heatrae Sadia Electromax and thst this requires an economy 10 meter. Does anyone have any experience of this that they can share? I have come across equal amounts of positive and negative feedback for this tariff; and I have my reservations that it will be quite expensive to run.

  • Hi,

Scottish Power do an Economy 2000, which I think is similar.

Beware though, customer service is poor.

I just spoke to Scottish Power and apparently they only support Economy 7 (in case it's of use to anyone).

I do worry that this is the type of thing that you get different answers about depending on who you speak to in the organisation, hence my post on here.

  • I am with OVO energy. They are happy to take on Economy 10 and their rates are good and customer service is excellent.
They have just quoted me 12.35p peak, 6.67p off peak and daily standing charge of 27.4p.

I am comparing it with best offered economy 7 supplier for me who is First Utility. They quote 10.29p peak, 8.214p off peak and SC of 18.84p

As you see it can be tricky to compare as there would be another 3 hours saved on EC 10 over EC 7

    Hope that helps.
