For christmas my mum has asked could i donate to ebola orphans rather than a gift from me.
I looked online but am unsure which sites are the best / genuine could anyone suggest which sites are best/genuine.

  • Street Child looks like a good one: http://www.street-child.co.uk/

Alternatively, if you wanted even more mainstream, Red Cross have an Ebola appeal, and you might think along the lines of 'one person less infected = potentially one family less affected/orphans created'.

Here is a link to a site specialising in charitable gifts. The recipient is given information about the gift that is given in their name. I don't think there is anything there which is specifically linked to Ebola orphans but if you browse the site together you may find a range of gifts that will make mum happy:

As an adult, with adult offspring who always want to get me 'something' I've asked my friends and family not to waste any money on 'stuff' for me this year, but instead to give money to a cause I am fond of. If it gives your mum half the pleasure it gives me to think of money spent on children I really would like to help rather than things I appreciate, but neither really want nor need, then I can assure you, you've done a brilliant thing.
