in Credit cards
Just watch the ML show can someone tell me if I've got this wrong. I had to cancel a budget airline flight due to illness. I paid on my credit card but the credit card co state they can't help. That's not what I thought I heard on the show am I going mad or have I been sold a pup. The budget airline won't even reply to my letters but no surprise there Thanks Penny Crayon

What have you heard on show?
You are protected if you pay for something and the company you paid to fails to deliver what you paid for.
In your case it is you who fails to get the services. This is a typical case of travel insurance that you should have bought if you needed protection.
Also, you could have bought a refundable or exchangeable ticket, but it would have cost you much more.

Thanks, that's the problem with 3 grandkids causing havoc makes sense now. Have got travel ins so not totally out off pocket. Still can't get the airline company to talk to me. Cheers0

Have you tried emailing or phoning the budget website.
Does it say anywhere what your rights are if you cancel?
If there is doctors evidence of serious illness in close family that prevented you travelling then your travel insurance should cover it.0 -
Why should the airline talk to you, they owe you nothing, you are the one who broke the contract not them. Neither the airline or CC are liable, your travel insurance is your only recourse, if your covered.0

Yeah, I'm wondering this as well. It's hardly the airlines fault that they fell ill.
What's next, replacement food if you don't manage to eat it before the Use By date?0 -

Same thoughts here too.0 -
Presumably because you bought a non-refundable ticket, the airline have done nothing wrong by not refunding you the money and therefore no contract has been broken - so the CC company are not liable either.Penny_Crayon wrote: »Just watch the ML show can someone tell me if I've got this wrong. Neither, you have just misunderstood the contract you had with the airline and the additional cover that a CC gives you. That's not what I thought I heard on the show am I going mad or have I been sold a pup.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
