Usual time length for CRA to update files

Hey all

Just wondered if anyone knew how long the CRA'S took to update the credit files after the lenders have submitted the information?

Reason for asking is I cleared my barclaycard back on 15th October in full. Have not used it since intentionally. Anyway check my file today to see it has still NOT been updated.

Sent a message to barclaycard who inform me that they report the details upto 2 weeks after payment due date. So in my case next due date 5th Nov reported no later than 19th Nov.

However they have stipulated that the CRA'S take upto 6 weeks to update the file????? Errrr ok why would they do that!

So does anyone know who is more likely to be blamed for being god damn slow.....

Which file are you checking? Noddle is free, but it only updates the information it gives you once a month, regardless of what information they receive between times.

I am a member of check my file which is across all three of the agencies. There is no info entered for November at all on my barclaycard account on both callcredit and equifax which makes me think barclaycard haven't sent the info across
  • Well noddle has now updated and that is out of date too says that acount was last updated on 31st Oct!

You would think in this day and age lenders would be able to report account information on a real time basis.

  • Exactly. I'm sure I read somewhere they were going to be doing that at some point but even so info should be no more than a month old at any point!!

Have message callcredit to find out how long they take, experian don't say anything other than all data submitted goes through rigorous checks before appearing on credit files and sometimes it can take longer if the find discrepancies!

Just astounds me that something which is important to be always up to date doesn't appear to be as important to the cra's!
