Batteries in toys in post clarification.

So if a new toy is in a sealed box and has batteries included (AA) can this be sent Royal Mail or not? The leaflet doesn't seem clear, it mentions lithium batteries can be sent if attached to an electronic device but doesn't mention other batteries attached to a device. Since the Lithium ones are supposed to be the dangerous ones and it's ok to send those in a device it doesn't seem to make sense if you can't send normal batteries in a device?

Yes you can send them but may have problems with poorly trained counter staff. If they ask you just state that it contains new (alkaline etc) batteries with the toy or their original packaging.0

I have posted items with batteries. You have to tell the PO staff that there are batteries in the parcel and he will stick a form on it - forget which one it is. He said it is Ok as long as the declaration form is stuck on the parcel.0

I posted a used Operation game with normal batteries in it, when asked what was in the parcel I said a board game. I remembered a few days later about sending batteries. it seems to have got there without being destroyed anyway!0
