Smart Parking Asda

Hi all, is it safe to ignore tickets from this mob? I got one today at an Asda in Manchester. Simply forgot to buy a ticket, I've read the newbie thread but wanted to be 100% sure I can safely ignore these :).

Thanks all.

    NO!

The advice on this site has been Do Not Ignore for over two years.

Complain to ASDA anyway, and wait for the NTK assuming you got a windscreen ticket.

You obviously haven't read the Newbie thread if you think it's ok to ignore it.

Might want to go read it now.

Yep, I've just gone back to double check and cannnot find anything that says you should ignore this PPC.

    So, DO NOT IGNORE.

Read the NEWBIES thread properly this time.

... and read the NEWBIES thread and appeal the PCN. You will won't you?

Don't just rely on ASDA and even if they do cancel the ticket, make sure you get it in writing.

Of course thank you for the help, I just want to make sure I understand the information in the Newbie thread. How will I be able to tell if the are a firm that assumes Keeper Liability? I am taking that the advice is to wait to receive a letter from them before I do actually appeal. I have a receipt from my shopping so I need to include this, but I do not want to indicate at any point who was the driver at the time?

    1. Only include a copy of your receipt. Over £30 is usually a walkover.

    2. Only speak to manager or duty manager. And be firm but polite, and show him receipt.

Well I spent £29.60 so I should be ok on that front :) if the manager agrees to wave the fee how do I include this in my appeal?

    Just like that!

Simple letter saying that manager has agreed to cancel, but in case of difficulties.....
    then add standard appeal.

You don't need to. Just use the first appeal template from the newbies thread - and Smart always cancel (and they don't use a compliant NTK, they have no keeper liability so obviously that's why it's the keeper who appeals).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
