making a complaint

hi guys how do i go about making a complaint about british gas and have it taken seriously.

rang up today to see if the account could be in my name so can get gas meter and gas supply quicker. guy i spoke to was really nice but then told me i would have to go through the same process my partner currently is i.e sending faxes to them before they can sort out a meter so said ok will carry on doing it in my partners name since hes further along then me.

he put me through to another department to see if they had recieved our faxes for the lady to tell me that they hadnt recieved the correct pages of the letting agreement even though we know we sent the right one off and she also said that she hadnt recieved a utility bill either. told her we had sent them by fax on the tuesday but she was adamant it was the wrong pages and basically saying in other words i had imagined we had sent of the utillty bill. she was also very rude to me and wouldnt let me explain how desperate we need this meter installed. in the end was getting so frustrated with her i ended up in tears and told my partner to talk to her otherwise i would of said something nasty to her.

he talked to her and ended the call after she had told him what she had told me. he then rang up the lady who is dealing with our account to be told that they HAD recieved the utility bill but the letting agreemet sheet was wrong.so hes faxing it yet again today and means another 3 days til they process it.

so the women i spoke to was wrong about the utility bill and although i'm still 100% sure we sent the right pages of the letting agreement guess 2 people cant be wrong.

i am not happy at all.i'm really stressed out sick of feeling down and depressed and just want to cry. british gas are really c**p when it comes to delaing with customers no wonder so many people are switching to diffferent companys.

also since we have made so many phone calls (thanks to their incompetence) our bill is going to be sky high so we want to ask them to recover the costs since we cant afford to pay a huge bill and becuase they have stressed me out sooo much its the least they can do.(i'm suprised i havent gone into pre term labour with all this stress)

so if anyone knows a email address or postal address please can you let me know and if theres anywhere else i can complain about them then would be greatful if you could tell me.
